A Beauty Trip Back to 1995…
Phydra’s story began in 1995 when Mr. R.A. Léon Maurel envisioned making affordable, high-quality perfumes, soaps, toiletries, and fragrances accessible to all Mauritians. Founded by Mr. Maurel, Phydra now proudly works with a team of over 120 passionate individuals.
Over the years, Phydra has embraced its Mauritian roots, offering premier skincare, perfumes, and home fragrances manufactured locally, alongside select international brands treasured by all.
Phydra: a Fusion of ‘pH’ and ‘Ydra’
The name ‘Phydra’ was coined in 1995 by one of its founders, Noëlle Maurel – it is derived from pH symbolising balance and Ydra evoking hydration.
